Fact: I am a daring kind of girl

For Valentines Day this year I dragged my husband into "The Love Dare". He came in kicking and screaming that is no joke-we literally fought over starting last night or tonight. I win. One day in and we have already broken the rule of being patient with each other. Arguing at 9am, only 3 hours from wake up - YIKES.
Secretly, I am hoping over the next 40 days he will transform into a praying lovelorn fool.  I think he secretly is hoping I lose the book. So we will see, the book says it is hard to complete right there when you open it.
I havent seen the movie so I am not exactly sure "how" you do it, but we will read and do our best to get it right. I will do my best not to lose the dang book. I searched around a bit for testimonials, to date I havent found many; other than the folks who work at K-Love. But come on, they WORK at K-Love! Obviously they dont have much choice to just quit the dare now do they? Other than that it looks as if most give up after the first couple weeks. I admit that I cheated and read ahead, and honestly it does look like more than my hubbs is willing to do. Only thing I can say its worth a shot. He he may have argued a bit but, he read it with me last night, he brought it up to me today, we will read again tonight, and try again tomorrow. One day at a time. I will let you know what happens....

UPDATE !! 02/21/11 ....

So, we are 8 days in and I am actually a bit surprised. I had a negative though process coming into this that we would surely have given up by now. I am pleased to report, I was wrong. I should have known right? God is good – ALL THE TIME, all the time GOD IS GOOD. So far it has really brought the two of us closer, definetly made us more aware of the others thoughts and feelings. My husband is actually bringing up the book in daily conversation and he is excited to read each new day. I think its something to do with the “dare” part about it. Like it’s a challenge and if he does it he wins, he is a sports buff by nature and he LOVES to win. Whatever it is, its Awesome and I am excited for each new day. I would recommend this to anyone who is in a marriage "stale" spot. More to come !
UPDATE!! 03/22/11 - We missed a day here and there but we have recovered them well and kept on track. Things continue to go well and we have began praying together. This is something I would have NEVER though would come out of my mouth. Its been very positive to say the least, I am so happy we did this. Its currently day 32- I wont say what the dare is but it involves Sex, this is hubbs fave dare of all he said.  Duh!! LOL

Fact: School craft projects make me happy

Last year for Valentines Day my daughter’s class held a contest for best box. Thanks again to my crafty pal Bre (I really owe her big time for always opening her craft room to us) Kysa pulled it off in a major way. Her box was the cutest, so clever. Sadly, her classmate made some fancy cupcake box and took the loot leaving Kysa in second place. DOH !! So back to Bre’s house we go to pillage her fantasy paper room filled with more goodness than any scrapper/paper artist could ever dream for a chance at vindication in the 2011 valentine’s box showdown. Here is last years gem :

Wasnt that Cute? All the sweat and toil for nothing ! Okay so maybe I am a bit Dramatic.
This year though, WATCHOUT ...
Its all about the "Loveboat" The SS KYSA has pulled into port folks!!
Its Kysa's year for a Valentine Blue Ribbon, I feel it in my bones! But even if not... It is so fun to do these projects with her. With any of my kids. I feel like a kid again and I love spending that time with them, watching them get ideas and be excited, seeing things through their eyes.
And again not wanting them to grow up,
*sigh*
Here it is ! Looks Awesome

Fingers crossed for Kysa
You can get cool ideas and learn how to make your own love boat here.
Happy Valentines !

UPDATE:
Kysa Won !!! WOOT WOOT !!
She got a lil teddy bear and thought it was sorta cheezy, LOL, but at least she won after all her hard work!

Fact: Friends come and go, but zits are here forever.

At least in my case this is true. Here I thought that after 30 Zits would be a thing of the teenage past. Boy was I ever wrong. I had some crazy notion my skin would become clear and beautiful in my 20's at least. I thought breakouts were for girls, not established ladies like myself. Established? HAHA. Thinking that magically all the popping, painful, unsightly red, white, and black belmishes would just vanish and I would become somewhat sophisticated with a girlish glow like Audry Hepburn. Seriously though! I have been watching Oil of Olay commercials since I can remember. Even idolizing Catherine Denuve at age 5. None of these women had skin problems, was it just the Oil of Olay? In fact, I cant really remember my mother having skin issues either (she also used the OOO - I  bet thats what Rachel Ray probably calls it). What gives?! Maybe its the fact I dont use Oil of Olay? Oprah, did I just have an AHA Moment? Am I seriously just answering my own question right now?! I think I am.

It may also be that I dont wash my face twice a day, not even once a day if I am being completly honest with you. Did I use shampoo to wash my face in my 5 minute shower/quick rinse today-YES. Come on now, who honestly has time for the slow water splashing clean and clear commercial face routine? Okay, challenge is on. This weekend I will purchase some trusty Olay and in two weeks I will update and see if its nature that has doomed me with zits for life as if some sort of spell cast was upon me by a wicked apple giving witch, or, it is just the fact that I am a lazy dirty faced girl. We shall find out....
UPDATE:
Its been 2 weeks and I have yet to buy the darn cleanser and OOO.
That stuff is crazy expensive
I continue being lazy about washing my face
The zits remain.
