Even before we get to that point though, it’s the airport I really enjoy. At the airport if you stop and take it all in you can see so much. I like to imagine each person’s situation, where they are going, what they do, who they are. At the airport I feel as if I am somebody, somebody IMPORTANT. Obviously if you are there you have someone to meet or somewhere to go, which means you are needed and lets face it – EVERYONE wants to be needed, I don’t care what you say, that may not be a fact on record but its something deep down we all know to be fact. I like to know someone is counting on me to come through for them and I will. It’s like getting a gold star on the teachers chart. Every time I complete a task for someone I feel a sense of accomplishment and post up my inner gold star to the chart in my brain. I helped, did what was expected or more than, I made someone feel special, I kept a promise, etc. Real “Golden Rule” stuff, ya dig?
Believe you me, when the flight is cancelled or missed due to poor timing, its like erasing 5 stars in one fell swoop!! I am not a fan of that at all. I have a dream to Travel far and wide, to be at airports A LOT in my coming years. A dream to take all my kids to places we have only seen in books and see new things through their bright eyes, to see how amazing things experienced in person can be, to make misty watercolor memories. I am excited for that part of life, I do not know when it will happen, but by golly, I will make it happen come hell or high-water !! To date, I get on an airplane maybe once a year, more like every other year really and that sucks in my book. I pick up my important people about twice a year; I’m game for picking up anyone that asks or even going just to browse over priced, lame, arizona gifts of scorpions in epoxy, just so I can people watch and dream of my travel days to come. So if you need a lift lemme know !Here’s hoping that this year I will board a plane or two and get my next gold star.
