Where does vegetable oil come from? Have you ever in your life seen an oily vegetable? How is it that this subject has never been brought up? If vegetables are so good for you than why would the oil from them be so bad? I LOVE Mcdonalds french fries, this is one small reason for my plumpness. I love a few other fat little things also.Gravy, margaritas, mexican food,butter,salt,noodles... you get the idea. Obviously, I am not the picture of "health" but I try to be good, I really do try ! I would just love to go down South and spend a week with Miss Paula Deen. She is someone who I know would get me , we could share our stories over buttered breads, buttered beans, and butter. Oh we would be the best of friends ! I do like veggies though. (covered in butter) But I love them ! Cabbage, Spinach, Lima Beans, Green Beans, Squash, and Potatoes. But I have yet to see an oily one, I am thinking of writing to mythbusters on this one,I just dont get it.

Maybe the information found at the link below will help. It looks like cooking oils are made more from grains and seeds than from vegetables. Remember, that corn is a grain (not a vegetable).
How is cooking oil made?
